UPDATE: New Korean Visa Application Processing Time for 2019

Effective September 12, South Korea visa applications that are lodged in the Philippines will take more than ten (10) days to process. No specific lead time was provided by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, except the note that the schedule will still gradually change from here on given the increasing number of applicants.
The Express Visa option is no longer made available to those who wish to expedite their applications, excluding those who have been invited by the government of Korea or a Korean organization, among others.

South Korea Visa Processing Time 2019
On September 11, 2019, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines published a notice regarding their visa processing period. Those who will submit their applications from September 12 onwards will be subject to an estimate lead time of more than ten (10) working days. No specific duration was specified by the Embassy as they expect it to still change given the rising number of applicants. The public is advised to check on the Embassy’s homepage every Monday to stay updated.

From Sep. 12, 2019, visa processing period of temporary visitor's visa(C-3) will increase from 10 days (for both first time and frequent travelers) to expected additional date gradually due to increase in number of Korean visa applicants. We will announce the releasing date on the Embassy homepage every Monday. Also ask the agency about the exact releasing date on the claim stub after applying.
But the following applicants can apply for the express visa with visa fee P1,000 and its will take 5 working days to get the result.
1. The applicant who is invited by Korean government and public agency
2. The applicant who is invited by Korean company, school and organization
3. The family members of Korean(parents, spouse, children, family of spouse, etc.)
4. The applicant who needs urgent medical treatment, with accidents and with humanitarian reason

Here are the recent key developments for reference:
September 12, 2019 - Lead time increased from 10 days to >10 days (unspecified and TBA every Monday)
September 9, 2019 - Express or Expedited Visa option is discontinued
August 22, 2019 - Lead time increased from 7 to 10 business days.
April 1, 2019 - Lead time increased to 7 working days for both frequent and first-time travelers, whose visa applications were processed in 3 business days and 5 days respectively.
November 2018 - Express Visa was made available (paid 2-day processing).
