STOPPED: South Korea Express Visa in the Philippines

Beginning September 9, 2019, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines will no longer offer the Express Visa option. The service, which was implemented on November 2018, provides aspiring tourist and business visa holders the option to have their applications processed in two (2) business days for a fee of ₱1,000. The Embassy decided to discontinue the service following the rising number of applications that they are receiving.

Once implemented, all Korean visa applicants — regardless of travel history (first-time or frequent traveler) — will be subject to the regular processing schedule of ten (10) working days. Processing remains to be free (gratis) for Filipinos. (For more information on this lead time, click here.)

Another notice dated August 28, 2019 was also released, which introduces the Korea Visa Portal. To know how to navigate this platform, read this guide: How to Check the Status of Your South Korea Visa Application
