From its establishment in 2001, Incheon International Airport has been raking awards for its facilities and offerings, which makes it a very pleasant stop for many travelers. If you find yourself in Incheon International Airport for a long layover, here are some of the things that you can check out and do:

1. Get your hands into South Korea's culture.

Whether your'e in Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 or 2, there are Korean Traditional Culture Centers where you can spend quality time. In these areas, you may try different hands-on activities, such as handicrafts, sewing, and making jewelry boxes out of paper. Depending on availability, lessons for drawing Korean patterns, coloring traditional fans, and making your own purse or "lucky bag" may also be offered.

The Korean Traditional Culture Centers are found in these locations:

    • West Wing: near Gate 40

    • 3/F Departure Area

These Korean culture centers in the airport are free to visit and are open 24/7 year-round.
 

2. Snap a photo of you wearing a hanbok.

Aside from joining workshops, you may also try wearing the hanbok or Korea’s traditional costume. Take your commemorative photos, post them online, and caption it well.

3. Watch a live performance.

Take a moment to listen to Korean folk songs, jazz music, and even Korea drama OST's. The mini-shows will surely tug at your heartstrings.

Catch a performance at the 3/F Terminal 1 central stage during these hours: 11-11:30am, 12:30-1pm, 3:30-4pm, 4:30-5pm, and 5:30-6pm. There are also shows at the 1/F Central Millennium Hall of Incheon International Airport.
 

4. Catch a parade.

If you want to get a sense of how the royal family from the Joseon Dynasty looked like, witness one of the exciting parade shows right inside Incheon Airport! 

While not guaranteed to be available daily, the parades are usually held at these hours at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 Duty Free area: 11:30-12:20pm, 2-2:40pm, and 4:00-4:50pm. You will also be able to take pictures with the cast at the end of the performance.


5. Spend some time at the museum.

Several Korean Culture Museums are found in Incheon Airport to promote the country's excellence in arts and culture. Here you will find artifacts preserved from more than a thousand years ago!

Travelers get free admission to these sites, which are located at the 4/F of ICN Terminal 1.
 

6.  Shop!

Incheon International Airport offers a wide-variety of stores in their duty-free sections (Lotte Duty Free, Shilla Duty Free, Shinsegae Duty Free, SM Duty Free, City Duty Free, Samick Duty Free, and Entas Duty Free). You are sure to find the hottest brands, which include, but are not limited to:

Let children be children at the Kids’ Zone! This is found at the East and West wings of the airport, near the Rest Zone and Snack bar. These sites are open 24/7!

8. Watch a movie.

If you have plenty of time, why don't you go CGV and watch a film? (Yes, it’s possible!) You can check out the movie listings at the CGV website here.

Be sure not to miss your flight!


9. Get a massage.

If your body yearns for some massage after a tiring trip, you can visit Spa on Air at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1Here you'll find everything you'd expect, such as sauna, locker rooms, lounge, etc

Spa on Air is open 24/7 to cater to travelers.


10. Relax and nap.

Incheon Airport's Nap Zones are so comfy that you may just call it your home. You will find this awesome place at the East & West side of Duty-free area at the 4/F of Incheon Terminal 1.

Nap Zones are open 24 hours a day. (Again, don’t get too comfortable that you’d actually miss your flight!)
 

11. Sleep.

Sleeping would not be a part of our things-to-do at Incheon Airport list if not for the nice capsule hotels available, such as Darakhyu. This is a capsule hotel found at the 1/F Passenger Terminal & Transportation Center, which offers well-equipped rooms, shower areas, and a cozy business center. 


13. Connect.

Incheon Airport has free Internet Zones if you wish to be in your natural element. You will find them in the duty-free areas as well as the regular waiting areas.

If you need some business services done, there is also the Internet Cafe by Cafe Bene at the 3/F of Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 for internet, printing, fax, and coffee!


14. Pray.

If you need a private place to meditate, there's a prayer room right by Gate 25 at Incheon Airport Terminal 1.
 

15. Eat your heart out.

Did you know there's a restaurant run by a two Michelin-starred chef at the newly opened Incheon International Airport Terminal 2? It's called PyungHwaOk, which is found at the fourth floor.
